* Avatars * Page 2 *
The term apparently comes from the Sanskrit word Avat ã ra, meaning incarnation and usually refers to the deliberate descent of an immortal or divine being into the mortal realm for a special purpose.
In the cyber age it has become an image that represents a person on a message board / playimg video games / bloggers / the owner of personal web pages on MySpace, among others. On this web site avatars are used on the member page and in the WAG contests.
